The Gilpin County Education Foundation was established in 1994 to provide funding for the teachers/coaches, specific programs and projects, and scholarships to students of Gilpin County and specifically the Gilpin County School District. The overall mission is to provide additional resources to better the education of Gilpin County students.
During our history we have helped secure grants and provided funding for numerous programs and projects, such as improved technology in the classrooms, 4th, 5th and 6th Grade Outdoor School, local sports programs, added teacher materials in the Montessori classrooms, supported the breakfast program offered through Parent Teacher Association during CSAP/TCAP testing, sponsored student field trips, and provided more than $120,000 in scholarships to graduating students to help with their post-secondary education.
